On the morning of Saturday, January 13, 2024 my beloved wife Judy Bowdoin Tucker passed away at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama after a long illness with ovarian cancer. She was my greatest earthly love of my life and my best friend. Together we had two wonderful children, Matthew and Sadie who were blessed with her kind spirit and owe much of who they are to their mom. We also have one grandson Ezra who is and was Judy’s great love and loving encouragement. Judy was tough as nails but had a wealth of compassion. Her family meant everything to her and there was never a doubt that she loved and cared for her family very much.
Judy had a colorful, full and very accomplished life. Besides being married to Tim for over 48 years, she was Enterprise High School homecoming queen in 1974. She later received her master’s degree from Troy University. She taught business classes for several years and was headmaster for many years at Enterprise Preparatory Academy, a school that she and her husband founded and built. She also was on the AISA board of inspectors for numerous years.
Judy also had a wonderful career in the world of the American Quarter Horse Association. She along with Sadie her daughter had the twentieth all time AQHA halter horse champion “Ray”. She was Reserve Champion in the world at the AQHA show in Columbus, Ohio.
Judy also helped found and manage Gold’s Gym Aerobic and Fitness Clubs in both Enterprise and Dothan, and until recently had been the business manager of Mission of Mercy Vet Clinic, where her husband is the veterinarian. She was also trained in Evangelism Explosion as a teacher and trainer at First Baptist Church in Enterprise.
She will be missed and will always be greatly loved. There will be a large hole that will be hard to fill now, mainly in our hearts but also in our day to day lives. She is now in the loving arms of Christ Jesus and even though our hearts are hurting now, it will be just a short time before we will be together again, forever and ever. Amen.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
