JUDY THOMPSON STARLING
NEWVILLE…Judy Thompson Starling, a resident of Newville, Alabama, passed away Thursday morning, September 2, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. She was 68.
Celebration of Life services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 6, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Reverend Tom Chestnut officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. before the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in Judy Thompson Starling’s honor, to SHARK, Safe Haven Animal Rescue & Kennels, P.O. Box 126 Abbeville, AL 36310, www.shark37.care.
Ms. Starling was born in Napier Field, Alabama to the late Rhodes Maxwell Thompson and Fauviett Danford Thompson. She was a 1971 Graduate of Dale County High School. She attended Wallace Community College and Troy State University (Troy University). She went on to graduate with degrees in Home Interior Décor and Fashion Design from the University of Alabama in 1974. At the time of her death, she owned and operated Judy’s Sewing Depot. It was said “there was noting with a stitch, that she couldn’t fix or repair”. She was very adamant, about her love for animals. She attended Union Freewill Baptist Church in Shorterville, Alabama.
She loved to play music, especially on the banjo and the piano.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, John David Sawyer.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her husband, Mike Starling; her brother, Roland Maxwell Thompson; and her fur babies, Billy Bob, Jake, Sweetie, and Gracie.
