Julia Faye Dye Godwin of Geneva passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on Thursday, September 12, 2013.  She was 87.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Geneva with Rev. Nathan Carroll and Rev. Tony Dye officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday beginning at Noon.


 Mrs. Godwin was born in Damascus, Ala. on October 23, 1925 to the late Huland Dickerson Dye and Sally Clyde Roberts Dye.  She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church for more than sixty years.  She retired in 2011 from Carr, Riggs and Ingram where she had been employed for sixty-five years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Otho Lamar Godwin; and brother, Roger Dye.


 She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Godwin of Geneva; son, Kevin Godwin (Rendy); granddaughter, Ava Rose Godwin, all of Donalsonville, Ga.; brother, Samuel Roberts Dye (Geri) of Dothan; three sisters, Martha Jean Bedsole of Warner Robins, Ga., Sara Dye Rhodes of Dothan, and Jawona Warren (Donny) Warner Robins, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
