FT. GAINES, GA. . .Julia Rogers Blalock, a resident of Ft. Gaines, Georgia, died Saturday night, October 9, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. She was 73.

   Memorial services will be held at a later date. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

   Julia Blalock was born and reared in Albany, Georgia, daughter of the late William Hallie Rogers and Wylene Swearingen Rogers. She lived in Leesburg, Georgia before moving to Ft. Gaines in 2011. Julia was retired from McGregor Golf Corporation in Albany as a Supervisor. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

   Surviving relatives include her husband, James Earl “Jimmy” Blalock, Jr.; a daughter, Judy Phillips (Tommy), Leesburg, Ga; two sons, Roger Hutchins (Robin), Leesburg, GA; and James William Blalock, Ft. Gaines; two sisters, Sarah Burrell, Baconton, GA; and Brenda Gardner, Leesburg, Ga; five grandchildren, Jade Phillips (Reese Bacon), Justin Phillips, Blayne Hutchins, Kellie Sullivan (Skeet) and Julie Summerlin, five great-grandchildren.
