Mr. Julian Jerome “JJ” Lindsay of Armstrong Road, Hartford, Alabama passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015.  He was 70.


A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jim Creel and Rev. Gary Armstrong officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continue until service time.


Mr. Lindsay was born August 10, 1944, in Hartford, Alabama to the late Aaron Denzil and Eleanor Beatrice Miller Lindsay. After 40 years of service he retired from Ft. Rucker where he worked as an aircraft supply supervisor.  Mr. Lindsay enjoyed singing Southern Gospel music, attending gospel sings and fishing.  He was a very faithful and loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.


In addition to his parents, his wife of 30 years, Jean Lindsay, a son-in-law, Raymond Morris, and three sisters, Pauline Philp, Cupadean Aycock and Maxine Lindsay, all preceded him in death.


Survivors include one son, Jerome Lindsay, Jr. and wife Donna of Hartford; one daughter, Dianne Daum of Opp; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; other extended family and friends.
