Date of Service: Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 27, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church in Dothan with Rev. Rob Oates officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers donations in Mrs. Sanders memory can be made to First Presbyterian Church.

June Sanders, a resident of Dothan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 21, 2019. She was 91.

Born in Dothan, Alabama on June 4, 1928 to Jesse Hassell and Bertha Street Bryson, Mrs. Sanders attended high school at Mt. Vernon Seminary for Women in Washington, DC and the University of Alabama where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was devoted to the love of her life, Joe Sanders, Jr., her husband of 40 years. She accepted Jesus as her savior as a child when she realized she was a sinner in need of God’s salvation. Mrs. Sanders was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Dothan, where she was a Sunday school teacher, superintendent of Christian Education, Bible school teacher, Bible study teacher, a choir member and devoted member of her Women of the Church Circle. When she moved to Panama City, she became a member of a PCA Church, where she was active also. Mrs. Sanders was an award-winning artist, enjoyed gardening, and traveling, she was a devoted friend, faithful volunteer, mentor to many younger women in her church. She loved the beach and Alabama football. After the death of her husband, she traveled to Scotland, England, France, Portugal, Israel, Canada, Spain, and the Western U.S. She also took many trips to see her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Sanders was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed terribly by all who knew her.
Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Sanders, Jr., by her son, Hassell Manning Sanders, and by her 2 brothers, Rhett Bennett Bryson and Jesse Hassell Bryson, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Alberta Sanders Keener, Dothan, Joe Bryson Sanders, Dothan, Sally Sanders (Tom) Sinclair, Birmingham; her grandchildren, Rachel (Chad) Barrentine, Sarah (Edward) Ahlstrand, Pamela (Matthew) Wilsen, Joe (Senthy) Sanders, Maggie (John) Stahmer, Eva (Seth) Spooner, and Mollie Sinclair; her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sawyer Barrentine, William, Charles, and Henry Ahlstrand, Piper Wilson, Charlotte and Jack Stahmer, Manning, Mary Daniel and Rhett Sanders, Sanders Spooner.
