Karen Jane Goodson, 60, of Dothan found peace September 1, 2017, after battling cancer for several years.

Memorial services will be held 4pm Friday September 8, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3pm – 4pm Friday.

A dedicated nurse, Karen spent 25 years at Southeast Alabama Medical Center as an RN, first on the oncology floor, then in the receiving room, right up until her final days.

Outside work, Karen enjoyed shopping, gardening, doting on her many four-footed, aquatic or squawking pets and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Karen was a woman of immense strength, love and devotion.

She is survived by twin daughters Jenny and Keli, mother Rita Preusz, sister Rachel Ebert and brother Barry Preusz, along with her beloved SAMC work family and friends. May she forever walk the shores of Heaven’s beaches.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made in her name to Wiregrass Humane Society or Dothan Area Botanical Gardens.
