Karen Meyers, a resident of Kinsey, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at a local hospital. She was 58.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Bynum officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to help offset funeral expenses.

Karen was born on October 15, 1957 in Houston County and spent the early part of her life in the Dothan area. She lived in Panama City for several years prior to moving back to Dothan 3 years ago. She was a long-time employee with Waffle House working in several locations.

Survivors include her sons, Jeremy (Heather) Roberts and Damian Roberts; a grandson Dakota Harrell; her mother, Janice (Jimmy) Suggs; her brothers, John (Rita) Hughes, David Newton, and Randy (Gloria) Askew; her sister, Toni (Robert) Byrd; several nieces and nephews.
