KAREN NELL VAN HORN
ABBEVILLE…Karen Nell Van Horn, a resident of Abbeville, died late Friday afternoon, June 24, 2016, at her home. She was 77.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 26, 2016, in the Adoniram Baptist Church with Reverend Otis Derrah officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adoniram Baptist Church, c/o Tina Barnes, 3475 County Road 71, Shorterville, AL 36373.
Ms. Van Horn was born in Lodi, Ohio and moved to Casselberry, Florida with her family as a child. She lived in Casselberry all her adult lifetime before moving to Abbeville in 2008. Ms. Van Horn was member of the Adoniram Baptist Church and cherished her time as a member of the Adoniram Ladies Monday Prayer Group. She retired from Chips Supply, Inc., in Orlando, Florida.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Tammi J. Johnson, Sanford, FL; a son, Charles Edward Van Horn (Luz), Longwood, FL; two brothers, Robert E. Nell (Ramona), Clarksville, TN; and Donald R. Nell (Joyce), Thomaston, GA; two nephews, Mark Nell (Angela), Abbeville; and Roger E. Nell (Rhonda), Clarksville, TN; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several great-nieces and great-nephews; a lifetime friend, Jannelle Jackson, Altamonte Springs, FL.
