Kathy Elaine Decker, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 26, 2024, in Webb, Alabama. Born on March 12, 1953, in Houston County, Alabama, Kathy’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of laughter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at New Freedom Church in Webb, AL with Pastor Sidney Miller officiating.
Kathy was the second oldest daughter of the late Coleman P. Mixon and Blondell McClendon, and step-daughter to Ulmer McClendon. Her life was rich with the love of her family, including her daughter, Kathy Elliott (Brian Keel) of Webb, AL; her sons, Raymond and Edward Decker of Florida; and a set of twins, a boy and a girl, her cherished grandchildren, James T. Elliott, Jr. and Jessie James Elliott, both of Webb, AL; her siblings, Linda Gayle Henizer of Tampa, FL, Debbie Alonzo, Jerry Mixon of Webb, AL, and Tim Mixon of Dothan, AL.
Kathy’s passion for gardening was evident in the vibrant roses that adorned her home, a reflection of the care and attention she gave to everything she loved. Her spirit of service was unparalleled, always ready to help others, often going as far as to give the shirt off her back. A devout Christian, she found solace and strength in her faith, which guided her through life’s journey.
Her sense of humor was a light that never dimmed, bringing laughter and warmth to all who knew her. Kathy was an avid viewer of Court TV, indulging in her interest in the law and justice. An animal lover at heart, she shared her home and heart with numerous cherished pets over the years.
Kathy’s legacy is one of unconditional love and selfless giving. She doted on her family, and her presence was a source of comfort and happiness. She will be deeply missed, but her loving, thoughtful, and funny spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
