KATHY FRADY CHANCY
GRIFFIN, GEORGIA. . .Kathy Frady Chancy, a resident of Griffin, Georgia, died Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2014, in a Griffin hospital. She was 58.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (CDT), Wednesday March 12, 2014, in the Old Center United Methodist Church, near Newville, Alabama, with Dr. Wallace Wheeles and Reverend Kenneth Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary, Headland, Alabama, is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. (CDT) Wednesday in the church sanctuary.
Mrs. Chancy was born and reared in Atlanta, daughter of the late Fred Robert Frady and Mildred Holloway Frady. She lived in Forest Park, Georgia before moving to Griffin in 1997. Mrs. Chancy was a graduate of Fulton High School in Atlanta and attended Clayton State University in Forest Park. She retired from AT & T as a secretary and manager in the Atlanta area. Mrs. Chancy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Bobby) Frady.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Hulon Causey Chancy; two daughters, Leslie Grantham, Cumming, GA; and Sonny Wilkerson (Eric), McDonough, GA; a step-daughter, Sharon Chancy, Warner Robins, GA; a step-son, Hulon Eugene Chancy (Leigh), Concord, GA; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jerome Chancey, Harold Chancey, Ricky Hunt, Donnie Cobb, Eric Wilkerson, and Roger Chancey.
