Kelly Alisha Danzey, 29, a resident of Dothan passed away on Friday April 27, 2012 at her residence after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Kelly Alisha Danzey was born on May 14, 1982 to the proud parents of Waymon and Sherry Danzey. Kelly was a 2001 graduate of Northview High School. Her ambition to enter trade school and become a nurse was cut short due to her illness. Kelly worked at West Telecommunications as a telemarketer.
Kelly was introduced to Bible Truths at an early age by Jehovah Witnesses and was presently having Bible study. One of her favorite scriptures was Isaiah 41:10 “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will keep fast hold of you with my right-hand of righteousness.”
Kelly’s laughter, beautiful smile and singing voice will be missed by her family and friends. She was a bundle of joy from the beginning of her life. She always told the truth even if it got her in trouble.
One of Kelly’s favorite things to do was caring for her nieces and nephews: Tyler, TaKiyah, Braxton, Brylan, Cournias, Kayla, Makayla, Carman, Eric Jr., and Kamayah. She always found time to laugh and play with them, but also made sure that they knew right from wrong. They lovingly called their favorite aunt “Tee-Tee”.
Kelly also had a good sense of humor, enjoyed life and shared it with all her first cousins and many dear friends David Thompson, Eddie and Wyshonne Thompson, Patricia Baker and Robert Thompson, her love, laughter, and friendship will be missed by many.
Kelly departed this life on April 27, 2012 after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her father Waymon Danzey, sister D’Wanna Danzey, her maternal grandfather John M. Weatherington Sr., her paternal grandfather Lloyd Danzey Sr., her uncle John M. Weatherington Jr., and her great aunt and uncle Katie and Freddie Trawick.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: mother and step-father, Sherry and Russell Brooks; brothers, Frederick and Rhonda Danzey, Eric and Special Lee; sister, Courtney and Kawaun Doyle; step-sisters, Amber and Chad Clark and Jessica Brooks; grandparents, Jewell Weatherington and Merle Brooks; uncles, Craig and Tamami Weatherington, Marvin and Winifred Danzey, Norris and Laura Danzey, James and Cora Brooks; aunts, Sylvia and Eddie Coleman, Carolyn Davis, Cathy Vance, Nadine and Miles Freeman, Rosie Weatherington, Ola and Robert Moore, Lisa Weatherington and Carolyn and James Currington, and a host of relatives and friends.
