Kennedie Renea Brown

Kennedie Renea Brown was a vibrant soul who left us on the 25th of January, 2024, in Dothan, AL. Born on June 18, 2011, to the loving family of Kelly Harrison and Jeff (Saranda) Brown, Kennedie’s life was a testament to the power of positivity in the face of adversity. Her brothers, Taylor and Harrison Brown, along with her adored grandparents, Renea "Mimi" and John Myers, Brenda “Nana” Brown, Ricky and Diane Harrison, Larry and Debbie Creekmore, Charles and Jane Wright, and Jerry and Lynell Morris. She leaves behind her great-grandmother, Marie Cox, with aunts and uncles, Amy (Rueben) Poole, Derick (Liz) Creekmore, April (Jason) Ingram, Selena (Hank) Hughes, Becky Barfield, Isaiah Myers, Kate Halle, and Amy (Clint) Hatcher, and a host of loving cousins who will forever cherish her memory. She was welcomed into the next adventure by her late great grandmother, Marilyn Myers, her grandfather, Joseph Brown, and by her great grandmother, Virginia Ellis.

Kennedie's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly from a young age. Not your average kid, she was the mastermind behind thriving home-based businesses, crafting soap and candles, flipping treasures, and even designing bracelets. Her hands were always busy, her mind whirling with the next big idea. Cleaning, organizing, and creating – Kennedie did it all with a determined smile, never letting her pain define her. She was fearless, refusing to let anyone see her sickness, because in her words, "There’s nothing we can do about it."

Cancer was a chapter in Kennedie's story, but it never defined her. A fearless warrior, she had previously sent cancer packing for eight years until it rudely reappeared two years ago. Yet, she lived more in her twelve years than many do in a lifetime. Kennedie's love for animals was legendary. From geckos, horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, and turtle, Moose. Her companions Buddy and Wrangler shared her passion for barrel racing and pole racing. She was as selfless as she was fearless, an old soul in a young body.

Bella, Ali, Pria, and Dakota, her canine companions, were the lucky recipients of her boundless love and belly rubs. Kennedie's honesty was as refreshing as it was blunt, her humor as giving as her spirit. She could outmaneuver anyone on dirt bikes and hoverboards, and her artistic talents stretched from crocheting to painting. A true cowgirl, she also had a green thumb for planting flowers and a knack for baking. Her love for shopping was pure and simple, with Five Below being the treasure trove for her many whims.

Kennedie was our rainbow in every storm. She was loving, courageous, and selfless. Her laughter was a melody that could lighten the heaviest of hearts, and her straightforwardness was a light we all enjoyed. Kennedie’s life was beautifully written. Teaching us how to laugh in the face of fear and to give without expecting anything in return. Kennedie was right about a lot of things, especially how to live life to the fullest, with a side-splitting grin and a heart full of dreams.

To say Kennedie will be missed is an understatement. She has left an impression on all the lives she touched. Her story is one that will be told with laughter through tears, a standing ovation for a life so brilliantly lived.
