Kenneth Allen “Cheezer” Anderson, a resident of Ashford, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at a local hospital. He was 53 years old.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Mayhall officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.


Kenneth was born March 22, 1964 in Gordon, AL and lived in Houston County all his life. He was employed as a truck driver for several years prior to his medical retirement. He loved to ride his motorcycle and camping. He especially enjoyed riding with his biker friends, and felt free when he was riding.


Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Lola Anderson; his sisters, Thelma Brown, Sarah Veazey, and Dorothy Trawick; his son, Mack Fortune.


Survivors include his wife, Doreen Anderson; son, Joseph Fortune; daughters, Larissa (Eric) Schuler, Felicia (Stephen) Oakford, and Demicia Fortune; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Anderson; sister, D’Renda (Joe) Lewis; brother-in-law, Tony Godwin; several nieces and nephews.
