ABBEVILLE. . .Kenneth Dozier Reid, Jr., a resident of Abbeville, died Monday afternoon, December 19, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 55.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Wayne Riley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, near Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
Kenneth Reid was born in Columbus, Georgia and was raised in Phenix City, Alabama. He lived most of his adult lifetime in Crawford, Alabama before moving to Abbeville in 2016. Kenneth was retired, due to disability, from Kellogg’s Bakery in Columbus. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Dozier Reid, Sr., his mother, Annette McBride Lenoir, and a sister, Tammie Deas.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Sonya Shay Reid, a sister, Karen Reid Stafford (Richard), Phenix City; a brother, Eric Lenoir, Phenix City; a sister-in-law, Linda Davis (Billy F. Davis); several nieces and nephews.
