Kenneth Duane Johnson, 59, of Ashford, AL passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at SEAMC.
Kenneth was born to Roy E. Johnson and the late Norma Jean Smith Johnson on February 6, 1958. Kenneth resided most of his adult life in McDonough, GA and moved to Ashford in 2016.
Kenneth received his formal education from Troy University and was a member of the brothers of ETA PHI Chapter of Sigma CHI since 1978. He was also a graduate of Dothan High School.
Kenneth was a Sgt. for the Troy Police Dept. and retired from the United Chemicals of Belgium (UCB), as a Regional Director. He was a member of the Dothan Kiwanis Club and served on the Kiwanis Board of Directors.
Besides his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his grandparents, G.W. and Katie Nell Pitts of Dothan, and Buel and Betty Smith of Battle Creek, Michigan; uncles, Joe Pitts, and Duane Smith.
He is survived by his father, Roy E. Johnson and his father’s significant other, Anne Peters; aunt, Barbara Everett (Terry) of Rehobeth.
A visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2 PM Monday at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward-Wilson Funeral Home directing.
Serving as honorary pallbearers, The Brothers of ETA PHI Chapter of Sigma CHI at Troy University and Troy Police Dept.; pallbearers will include, Teddy Boles, Robin Boutwell, Tommy Bryan, Caleb Couch, Conner Couch, Terry Kersey, Forrest Lee, Scott Marquess, Neal Starling, and Joel Lee Williams.
Flowers will be accepted or donations to the Troy Chapter of Sigma CHI or Troy Police Dept.
