Kenneth Eugene “Kenny” Roberts, Sr.

Kenneth Eugene “Kenny” Roberts, Sr., age 67 of Dothan (formerly of Miami, FL) passed away late Tuesday afternoon, January 5, 2021 at a local hospital following an extended illness.

A memorial service for Kenny will be held at a date and time to be announced by Family First Funeral Care. Additional information may be obtained at www.familyfirstfuneralcare.com.

Kenny was born August 16, 1953 in Jamaica to the late Everton Eugene Roberts and Corrine Edwards (Reid). He lived most all his adult life in the Miami, Florida area, moving to Dothan, Alabama in May of 2019. Kenny was a former elementary school teacher and served as a school principal during his career. Due to a former injury, Kenny was bound to a wheelchair, but he never let the wheelchair bind him. He was active and involved with the Titchfield High School Alumni Association, cut grass, would climb a ladder, played chess and was basically a master DIY handyman who could fix anything and would not allow a wheelchair to stand in the way of him accomplishing anything. Of the many things Kenny was involved with and enjoyed, nothing seemed to be as important as his family and being active and involved in his church. When in Florida, Kenny was a very active member of Holy Family Episcopal Church in Miami Gardens, FL. After moving to Dothan, he was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity.

In addition to his father, Kenny was preceded in death by two sisters, Sophia Reid-Webb, and Sharon Roberts. Survivors include his wife, Blanden Roberts of Dothan, AL (formerly of Miami, FL); a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Eugene Roberts, Jr. (Rachel) of Chicago, IL; a daughter, Raynia Roberts-Cooper of Dothan; his mother, Corrine Reid of Orlando, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Calvin Reyes (Patricia) of New York; two sisters, Patricia Ross of Orlando, FL, and Denise Roberts of Georgia. Kenny is also survived by four grandchildren, Levi Roberts, Riley Roberts, Gabriella Morales and Tremayne Cooper, Jr.
