Kenneth “Ken” Lee Rhodes, 54, a resident of Dothan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Southeast Health.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Ricky Plummer and Reverend Steve Skidmore officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:15 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral of Dothan directing.
Ken was born September 26, 1970, in Dothan to Kenneth Eudon and Judy Carol (Watford) Rhodes. He spent the early years of his life in Cottonwood and was a 1988 graduate of Cottonwood High School. Following graduation, Ken enlisted and proudly served in the United States Navy. After his military service, he attended Alabama Aviation & Technical College in Ozark and worked with the Dothan Fire Department for 7 years. For the last 23 years, Ken has worked for the Department of Defense as an Electronics Technician. Ken was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and boating. He was a “jack of all trades” known for working on projects in his barn and the family land. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He is preceded by his grandparents, Roy Lee Rhodes & Eva Pearl (Newton) Rhodes, Alfred & Dorothy Watford; and a special friend, Shawn Nicholson.
He is survived by his wife, Kim (Ditty) Rhodes of Dothan; his daughter, Shelby Rhodes Skipper (Derron) of Jacksonville, FL; his son, Kenneth Gage Rhodes of Dothan; his parents, Kenneth & Judy (Watford) Rhodes of Cottonwood; a sister, Melinda Penley (Rick) of Daleville; father-in-law, Jacky Ditty (Melanie) of Greenwood, FL; mother-in-law, Melinda O’Bryan of Bascom, FL; and a special aunt, Kathy Newman of Dothan.
Serving as active pallbearers will be, Chris Money, Chris Giersberg, David Baxley, Jeffrey Williams, Brad Barnes, Troy Collette, Chris Woodham, Willie Branton, and Derron Skipper.
