Kenneth Loyd Todd of Dothan, AL, passed away on April 28, 2019.  He was 78 years old.


Visitation will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 5:00 -7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Selma Baptist Church on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.


Mr. Todd was born on May 7, 1940, in Houston County to the late Verbin and Evelyn Harrington Todd.  Mr. Todd attended Rehobeth High School where he played football, drove a school bus, and met the love of his life Shirley Ann Hunt.  He and Shirley married on April 6, 1962. Mr. Todd served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was employed for many years by Hedstrom Co. and Twitchell before retiring. He was a member of Selma Baptist Church for over 50 years where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher,and youth leader, and he ministered to many through disaster relief efforts including in New York City after 9/11. He enjoyed fellowship with family and friends, all types of music, a good western, spending time at the lake house, dove hunting with his father and sons, and making people laugh with his sense of humor.


Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Shirley Todd; son, Andy Todd (Cheryl); daughter, La Trenda Tyler-Jones (Bob); son, Stewart Todd (Jody); grandchildren Caroline Todd Leonard (Matthew), Davis Todd, Zachary Tyler, CJ Tyler (Myranda), Alex Todd, and Emma Todd; cousins, nieces, and nephews; and a very special church family.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Respite Care Ministry.
