     Kenneth Neil Grantham, 73, of Elba passed away at his home on July 27, 2024, surrounded by his children and his sidekick, Bo. Visitation will be held at Hayes Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, July 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, July 31, at the Elba Country Club beginning at 4:00 PM with Rev. Nathan Elliott officiating. A private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the family plot.
     Kenneth was a proud graduate of Elba High School organizing and hosting annual homecoming reunions for the 1968-1971 alumni. Kenneth graduated from Troy State University, with a business degree and worked in the banking and financial industry for his entire career. He was one of the first to take a motorhome to tailgate at Trojan Football games and was a proud member of the Troy Alumni Association. He enjoyed life to the fullest as a loyal fan of the University of Alabama and the New York Yankees. Kenneth enjoyed playing golf but loved the fellowship with friends more than the game. He was a long serving member of the Elba Country Club, well known for his boisterous entertaining at the Calcuttas. Some of his most entertaining times were at Talladega under the lights holding court by the bus with pit crew members and fans. However, nothing brought more joy to his life than being called “Pop”.
     Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, CF “Neil” Grantham and Agnes Marler Grantham. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, a daughter Reese Grantham, Tuscaloosa, AL, son Neil (DeAnn) Grantham, Elba, AL, granddaughter Parrish Grantham, Elba, AL, aunt Janette Grantham, Prattville, AL, and brother Charles (Liz) Grantham of Greenville, NC.
