Kenneth Richard Walden, of New Brockton, AL, passed away on January 15, 2019 at the age of 84 at Hospice Family Care, Huntsville, AL.
Kenneth served as a deacon and choir member of New Brockton First Church and was an active lifetime member. He served in the Alabama National Guard and retired from Ft. Rucker as a safety inspector. He was an avid sports fan, loved fishing and playing golf. Kenneth also loved his family especially his great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dennie Pittman Walden, who was the love of his life. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Walden Averett, his parents, Johnnie and Bessie Walden, a sister, Faye Carmichael and brother, Curtis Walden.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Walden Bofenkamp (Mike); granddaughter, Lindsey Averett Wallace (Chris); grandson, Cameron Lee Averett (Erica); great-granddaughter, Emery Averett; great-grandson, Walker Lee Wallace; brothers, Rex Walden; Hobson Walden (June); sister Ann Nunn (Dan); numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, January 19th at New Brockton First Baptist Church with Brother Nate Simms and Brother Slade Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in Old Tabernacle Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
