MIDLAND CITY. . .Kenneth Terrell “Kenny” Boyd, a resident of Midland City, died Saturday morning, February 9, 2019, in a Dothan hospital. He was 59.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 14, 2019, in Memory Hill Cemetery, Dothan, with Reverend Ricky Sowell officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
Kenny Boyd was born in Milton, Florida, son of the late James Terrell Boyd and Shirley Jane Richards Boyd. He served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1978 until 1985. Kenny was an avid Alabama football and NASCAR fan and loved animals especially his beloved dog, “Norma Jean”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arby C. and Georgia Richards and Charles and Hattie Boyd.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Heather Boyd (Alex Cole), Dothan; two sisters, Tami Boyd, Dothan; and Trudi Boyd (Tommy Brannon), Headland; nieces, Allison Cawley, Erin Linn (Aaron), Kaley Dickson (U.S. Navy), and Rachel Dickson; nephews, Joshua Cawley, James Welch (Adrienne), Gabriel Dickson; several great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts and uncles.
