Kenneth Thomas German, a resident of Ozark, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at his residence. He was 78 years old.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 24, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.


Kenneth was born on July 29, 1944 in Echo, Alabama to the late Teal and Glaydas German. As a young man, Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing with his best friend, Wilson. He worked as a floor installer for several years in the Wiregrass area. Kenneth grew many different types of plants and loved giving them to family and friends to grow in their gardens. He was avid NASCAR fan and could be found watching it on the weekends.


He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Hunter German and Jarrett Hartzog; and three siblings, Thural, Max and Glenn German.


Survivors include his sons, Johnny (Mary) German, Tony (Melanie) Hartzog and Jeff (Tangela) German; seven grandchildren, Michael (Cayla) German, Cody (Cherish) German, Shelby German, Justin Hartzog, Jordan Hartzog, Chase German and Josh (Candace) German; several great grandchildren; one sister, Jimmie Gray; and lifelong friend, Wilson Flowers.
