KENNY LEWIS, JR.
COLUMBIA, AL… Kenny Lewis, Jr., a resident of Columbia, Alabama, passed away Friday morning, April 21, 2023, at a Dothan Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Monday, April 24, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Vann Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Kenny was born in Mobile, Alabama, to the late Maye Lewis and Kenny Lewis, Sr.. He was a graduate of Murphy High School of Mobile, Alabama. His career was in ironworking, through Iron Workers Local Union #798, with most of his time spent at Farley Nuclear Plant. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. Mr. Lewis had been married to the love of his life, Debbie, for 41 years. They have lived in Columbia, since before their marriage. Kenny’s free-time usually included wood working or catching up on Alabama football.
Along with his father, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Atchinson, Faye Ivey, & Regina Dixon and his son-in-law Barry Boone.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Debbie Jowers-Lewis; his daughters, Tabatha Gates (Mike) and Teasia Boone; his son, Kenneth Martin Lewis (Hazel); his sisters, Wendy Johnson and Tracy Maloy; his brothers, Ronnie K. Lewis (Barbara) and Corky Lewis (Debbie); his father-in-law, W.R. Jowers; his brother-in-law, Billy Jowers (Lois); his sister-in-law, Nancy Jowers (Brian Casdorph); his wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his special great-great-niece, Emersyn Grace Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.
