HEADLAND, ALABAMA. . .Kimberly Elaine Dockery, a resident of Headland, Alabama, died early Friday morning, January 19, 2024, after an extended illness. She was 66.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date in Nickelsville, Virginia.
Kimberly Dockery was born in Defiance, Ohio and reared in Ayersville, Ohio. She attended Wallace Community College in Dothan where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Kimberly received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a focus in Engineering from Mercer University in 2001. She later received an MBA from the University of Tennessee. Kimberly retired as an Electrical Engineer and as head of Hybrid Micro Electronics Lab at Robins Air Force Base after fifteen years of service. In earlier years, she worked for the U. S. Postal Service from 1988 until 1997 and served as Postmaster in Sherwood, Ohio from 1989 until 1991. Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Kedrick Dockery, her mother, Doris Janet Fletcher Dockery, and a brother, Tony Dockery.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Jason Taylor (Kimberly), Leesburg, GA; and Jeremy Taylor (Kellie), Headland, AL; a sister, Amy Rivers (Joe), of Ohio; three brothers, Mike Dockery of Ohio; Eric Dockery (Leslie), of Tennessee; and Tracy Dockery (Stephanie), of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Brandon Cintron, Christian Taylor, Skylar Taylor and Ashton “Lexy” Taylor, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Gentiva Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Kimberly Dockery during her illness.
