OZARK… Mrs. Kitty Cole Johnson, a resident of Ozark, died late Monday afternoon, August 2, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. She was 62.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 8, 2021, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson, daughter of the late Larry Cole and Barbara Jean Tharp Geckeler was a native of Mississippi and spent her early years in Skipperville. She lived in various locations in the United States before returning to Ozark in 2014 where she met her husband, Doug. Mrs. Johnson and her husband operated the Rusty Barn Music Hall in Ozark. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria; two sons, Joseph and Stephen; brothers, Alan Peak and Kevin Doss.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Doug Johnson, Ozark; daughter, Kristy Cheatham (Butch), Tallassee, AL; stepchildren, Gary Yeagley (Kelly), Ray Yeagley (Angie), and Amy Yeagley; three sisters, Kathy Cole, Kip Cole, and Bobette Moore; a brother, Gary Mathis; grandchildren, Joey Blair, Christopher Blair, and Ryan Cheatham; several step-grandchildren; aunts, Evelyn Harper, Katheryn Watson (Bill), and Carolyn Martin; uncle, Larry Tharp (Gwen).
