CLAYTON, ALABAMA. . .Lacretia Beaty “Cricket” Boyd, a resident of Clayton, died Monday morning, July 20, 2020, in Niceville, Florida. She was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 25, 2020, in the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ray Cureton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 429 Bud Gary Highway, Clayton, AL 36016.
Mrs. Boyd, daughter of the late Marion Dewey Beaty and Rubye Lucille Baxley Beaty, was born in Texasville and reared in Baker Hill. She lived most of her lifetime in Barbour County, near Clayton. Mrs. Boyd was an active member of the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church. She was engaged in farming all her lifetime with her husband, Tom Boyd, in the operation of T. E. Boyd Farms. Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Emory Boyd, a brother, Wade Beaty and his wife, Lucille Palmer Beaty, and a niece, Monica Lucas.
Surviving family members include four sisters, Stawanctia Clark, Dothan; Gwen Sowell, Edwin Community; Gennella Barrs, Montgomery; and Amaryllis Sullivan, California; eleven nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be great-nephews, Steven Sowell, Tyler Hearin, Preston Hearin, Kyle Wingard, Keith Wingard, Kirk Wingard, Hunter Brock and Clay Brock.
