Ms. LaFran “Fran” Roberts Dean, 86, a resident of Dothan passed away early Friday, November 22, 2024 in Taylor after an extended illness. 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024 in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Harden and Rev. John Paul Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Harper Joy Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to services on Monday in the Chapel.

Flowers will be accepted and memorial contributions can be made to Dayspring Hospice 2464 W Main Street Dothan, AL 36301.

Ms. Fran Dean was born on November 8, 1938 to Jack Roberts and Ola Watson Roberts in Newton, Alabama. Her and her family moved to Ashford when she was six years old, where she lived until 1996, then moved to the Harper Joy community. She worked for Wex Tex Sewing Factory in Ashford as a seamstress for forty years. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Cottonwood.

Ms. Fran Dean is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jackie Roberts; and grandson, Wayne Ward.

Survivors include her three sons, Allen Dean (Phyllis) of Taylor, John Paul Dean (Lisa), and Richard Dean (Tracy), both of Dothan; one daughter, Rose Marie Ward (Wayne) of Malvern; brother, Jerome Roberts of Marianna, FL; twelve grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; four great- great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Ward, Thomas Simpson, Jonathan Simpson, Craig Agrella, Justin McNelley, and Jason Shirah.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Wex Tex in Ashford.
