OZARK…. Mr. Larry F. Carr (Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday evening, May 5, 2021 in a Dothan hospital. He was 76.


            Celebration of Life Services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 15, 2021 in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Floyd Ingram and Pastor Brian Presley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.


            Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, AL 36360 or to Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, PO Box 2502, Ozark, AL 36361.


            Mr. Carr, son of the late Frank Julian Carr and Gladys Tomlin Carr, was a native of Dale County. He served in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Vesole and  retired from the United States Navy after twenty years of service. Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked for the Ozark Police Department for ten years and then was employed by Range Control at Fort Rucker. Mr. Carr was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronnie Carr, Wayne Carr, and Maxie Carr.


            Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty-six years, Belinda Carr, Ozark; daughter, Lorie Ingram (Anthony), Ozark; a son, Randy Carr, Laguna Beach, FL; a sister, Judy Sitz, Ozark; a brother, Sam Carr (Teresa), Ozark; two grandchildren, Holden Ingram (Emily) and Taylor Easterling (Dylan); two great-grandchildren, Carrson Easterling and Elijah Easterling, and one on the way, Ezra Ingram; nieces and nephews.
