Larry Junior Ray, 62, of Midland City passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday, January 16, 2012 at Sunset funeral Home with Rev. Andy Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ray was born July 20, 1949 in Houston County, AL and resided the early part of his life in Cottonwood, AL. He moved to Midland City in 1964 and was employed with the State of Alabama Department of Transportation for over 27 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing at every opportunity he had. Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Merline Ray, and a sister Martha LeFever.

Survivors include his sisters, Carol Reader (Steve) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Anne Woodhan (Randy) of Dothan, Mary Ray of Fountain City, IN, and Myra Bright (James) of Midland City; several nieces and nephews including 2 very special nieces Brandi and Drena.
