Born on November 25, 1941, in Tumbleton, Alabama, Larry’s life was a testament to his thoughtful nature, interesting character, and passionate spirit.

Larry dedicated over three decades of his life to RC Cola, where he worked as a diesel mechanic for 31 years. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his love for his family and his hobbies. A true family man, Larry was a loving husband and a wonderful father who affectionately referred to his sons as "his little boys."

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George Shelley and Flois Shelley Dunn; his brothers, Wayne Shelley and Gary Shelley; and his daughter, Patricia Dianne Walden.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lynda Shelley; sons, Jerry Shelley and his wife Kathy, Anthony Shelley, Christopher Shelley, and Bryan Shelley; brothers, Ronnie Shelley and Mack Shelley; his special family members, Alvie and Linda Davis, and his adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

An avid collector, Larry enjoyed buying storage units and working on his cars. He had a sweet tooth for Honeybuns and Rice Krispie Treats, that was almost as big as his heart. Larry’s leisure time often included watching his favorite TV shows, Gun Smoke, Storage Wars, and Shipping Wars. His dog, Tyndall, was a beloved companion who brought him immense joy.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, January 15, 2024, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11:00am until the start of the service.
