Larry was born in Marianna, FL on October 16, 1947, to the late Lester and Ila Motley. Larry was a gifted person. The youngest in a family of five. He graduated High School in 1965, he earned his State Farmer degree in FFA as a student. He then earned his AA degree from Chipola Jr College. He created a bleacher design that earned him a US patent.   He also served in the National Guard.  Throughout his working career he was a talented draftsman, bleacher manufacturer, and a general contractor. He always worked hard to provide for his family. As a self-employed husband and father, he was able to give his children and wife a warm and loving home to grow up in. This allowed him to bring his children to worksites all over the country to work with him and make countless memories. His work ethic and dedication taught his children that they could do anything they set their minds to; that there was no limit to their success if the work was put in. Larry was a kind and compassionate person who never hesitated to help a friend or neighbor.  One of Larry’s greatest attributes was his ability to make others laugh.  This was evident in his pranks and jokes he loved to pull on his friends and family. He loved to laugh, have fun, and put a smile on the faces of those he loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his faithful wife of nearly 32 years, Linda Karen Brown Motley; one granddaughter, Anna-Karen-Nina Miller; one brother, Charles “Bo” Motley; and one nephew, Bill Bauman, Jr.

He is survived by two children, Jason Motley (Sonya), and Natalie Miller (Cory); grandchildren, Jonathan Owens, Kyle Owens, Lindy Motley, Ford Motley, Justin Miller, and Madison Miller; three great grandchildren and two more on the way; one sister, Faye Bauman (Bill); sister-in-law, Jeannie Motley; nieces, Melinda Motley Newberry, Sheila Motley Kimbrell, and Anissa Bauman; special extended family, Donald and Cindy Wood.
