Larry Oliver, 61, a resident of Dothan went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, December 8, 2015.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 2 pm Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keener Batchelor and Pastor Jason Batchelor officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 1-2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to New Life Church, 964 North Park Ave., Dothan, AL 36303.

Larry was born January 13, 1954 in Nouasseur, Morocco. He moved to Dothan at an early age and resided here for the past 54 years. Larry was a 1972 graduate of Dothan High School and he joined the US Army and served for 3 years. Following his military service he returned to Dothan and was employed with Jim Walter Homes for 20 years. He later owned and operated Chek Pro Merchant Services for over 20 years. Larry loved God and worshiped with his church family at New Life Church.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, James Durwood and Esther Attias Oliver, and by his sister, Lillian Elaine Oliver.

Survivors include his wife, Lougenia Oliver; his daughters, Shannon Rebecca Oliver and her husband Joseph Hunter and Janice (David) Bettis; his sons, Robert (Jenny) Nierstheimer and Paul Nierstheimer, Jr.; his grandchildren, Sonya (Josh) Woods, Daniel Nierstheimer, Paul Nierstheimer, III, Katie, Jacob, and Ben Bettis; his brothers, Gary (Bettye) Oliver, Richard Oliver, and Allen Oliver; his sister, Carol (Jimmy) Skipper; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Allen Oliver, Gary Oliver, Robert Nierstheimer, David Bettis, Tom Smith, and Pat Jones.
