Larry Wayne Mauldin, a resident of Newton, passed away on November 11, 2020.


Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Mount Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.


Wayne was born on October 29, 1946 to Kincel and Mildred Beasley Mauldin. He worked for Bonnie Plant Farm for many years before he retired. Wayne was full of life and very adventurous, having traveled all over the United States. He had a love of hunting, especially for raccoons. He enjoyed going on dove hunts in Mexico and bear hunts in Alaska. Wayne participated in showing his dogs in the UKC and PKC and was a member of a hunting club.



Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lynda Mauldin; his children, Larry Wayne Mauldin, Jr. and Amy (Joe) Mauldin-Clark; his four grandchildren, Logan Mauldin, Ashlyn Clark, Charlie Clark, Brooks Clark; one brother, Randal Mauldin; and several nieces and nephews.
