Larry Wayne Mauldin, Jr., known affectionately as Little Wayne by his loved ones, passed away on July 14, 2024, at the age of 43. Born on April 20, 1981, in Dothan, Alabama, Wayne remained a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown, Pinckard. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Larry and Mary Mauldin.
Wayne was a well-liked figure in the community, having spent several years working at Bonnie Plant Farms. His dedication to his work was only matched by his commitment to his family and his passion for the outdoors. Wayne is survived by his son, Logan James Miller, who was the pride and joy of his life. His sister, Amy Mauldin-Clark, her husband Joe, and their children, Ashlyn, Charlie, and Brooks Clark, will also hold dear the memory of their fun-loving uncle. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Those who knew Wayne will remember him for his good heart and gentle spirit, qualities he inherited from his mother. His humor and laid-back nature brought smiles to many, and his dependability made him a pillar in the lives of those he touched. Wayne was the kind of person you could always count on, whether you needed a laugh, a helping hand, or just a listening ear.
Wayne's love for the outdoors was a trait he shared with his father. He was an avid hunter and could often be found exploring the vast landscapes of Alabama. His interest in local archaeology led him to become a knowledgeable enthusiast who enjoyed searching for arrowheads on the family farm. Wayne was like a local archaeologist, well-versed in the history and variety of rocks that dotted the landscape he so cherished.
Wayne's legacy will live on through the laughter he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the memories he created with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
