LAURA LEIGH SEARCY
ABBEVILLE. . .Laura Leigh Searcy, a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday, January 21, 2017, in the Ozark Health & Rehabilitation. She was 63.
Ms. Searcy was born at Sherman AFB, Texas, daughter of the late Robert W. Searcy, DVM, and Lorene Cole Searcy. She was a graduate of Abbeville Christian Academy. Ms. Searcy received a B.A. Degree in Psychology from Auburn University and a M.A. Degree in Psychology from Troy University. She formerly worked for the Jackson County Mental Health Agency in Marianna, Florida and for the Florida Prison System in Chattahoochee, FL where she was a counselor.
She was preceded in death by her aunt, Mildred Searcy Dyer, and uncles, Dan M. Searcy and Calvin Pierce Moss
Memorial contributions may be made to the Abbeville Fire & Rescue, 201 Bradley Street, Abbeville, AL 36310 or Fancy Felines Rescue of the South, a cat rescue at 1311 Echo Mill Court, Powder Springs, GA 30127. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving relatives include her aunts, Arlina Moss, Punta Gorda, FL; and Linda N. Searcy, Canton, GA; an uncle, Watts Cole (Connie), Russellville; several cousins including, Jane Dyer Brown, and Don Skipper (Marilyn), all of Abbeville; and Laura Natale, Fresno, CA.
