Lawrence Burt Allen, 50, a resident of Newton passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at a local hospital.


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinckard Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.


Mr. Allen was born April 16, 1965 in Omaha, NE and lived in numerous places across the United States with his military family prior to moving to Newton in the 3rd grade. He was a graduate of Dale County High School. He was a farmer and loved to hunt and fish, hang out with friends and play football.


Survivors include his daughter Cherie Allen; his mother, Norma Allen; his sister, Donna (Ted) Hodges; nieces, Jaden Bence, Danielle Renfroe, and Deanna Hodges.
