LAWRENCE WESLEY HERRING
DOTHAN…Lawrence Wesley (Larry) Herring, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday morning, May 15, 2014, in a Dothan hospital. He was 61.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 18, 2014, in the New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church, located in the Brown’s Crossroads Community of Henry County, with Elder Ross Plowden and Elder Richard Herring officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Ross Plowden, 516 Coleman Road, Ft. Gaines, GA 39851.
Larry Herring was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was reared in Dothan. He was a 1971 graduate of Dothan High School and attended Auburn University where he majored in Forestry. Larry proudly provided taxi services in the city of Dothan for more than fifteen years. He was a member of the New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church. Larry was preceded in death by a brother, David Herring, and his father, Elder March A. Herring.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Emily Louise Herring, Trinity, AL; his mother, Inez Webber Herring, Dothan, AL; a brother, Elder Richard G. Herring (Lori), Prattville, AL; and four nephews, Wesley, Garrett, Brennan, and Jonah Herring.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Tom Watts, Wesley Herring, Garrett Herring, Brennan Herring, Jonah Herring, Birdie Bond, and Wayne Godwin.
