Leah S. Goldsmith resident of Dothan passed away Wednesday March 18, 2015 at a local hospital. She was 90 years old.

A memorial service will be held 2pm Monday, March 23, 2015 at Temple Emanu El with Rabbi Lynne Goldsmith officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Temple Emanu El, 188 North Park Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303 or to your favorite charity.

Mrs. Goldsmith was born April 24, 1924 in Baltimore, MD resided there for 60 years and was employed with the Baltimore City School System as a Physical Education Teacher. She was also employed with the Catonsville Community College before her retirement in 1984. Following her retirement she and her husband moved to Clearwater, Florida where she volunteered at the Morton Plante Hospital and St. Vincent de Paul Society Soup Kitchen. Mrs. Goldsmith has resided in Dothan since 2008.

Mrs. Goldsmith is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert J. Goldsmith and by her son, Richard A. Goldsmith.

Survivors include her son, Robert J. (Lynne) Goldsmith; her 2 grandsons, Michael P. (Stephanie) Goldsmith and Daniel S. Goldsmith.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Terrace at Grove Park, Extendicare, and the physicians and staff on 2nd East at Southeast Alabama Medical Center for their love and care extended to Mrs. Goldsmith and our family.
