Lee Van “Pete” Folds, a resident of Cottonwood, passed away August 12, 2016 at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness. He was 63.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Shifra and Brother Earl Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5-7 pm. At other times the family will be at 282 Todd St. in Cottonwood.
Pete was born on May 21, 1953 in Dale County. He lived the early years of his life in Newton and attended Wicksburg High School. Pete was a truck driver for Andrews Trucking Company U. S. Mail Service for several years. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to fish in Lake Eufaula. Pete also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Pete was preceded in death by his son, Bennett Christopher Ducker, his brothers, Donny Floyd Folds, Eddie Arnold Folds, Sr., and Lonnell Folds, and by his parents, Thomas Floyd and Polly Virginia Folds, and by his stepfather, Levi Campbell Henderson, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Folds; his sons, Ronald Gene (Heather) Folds, Winter Heaven, FL, Eric Brian (Christy) Little, Cottonwood, Levan Pete (Cayci) Folds, Jr., Cottonwood, and Scotty Ladon (Jennifer) Ducker, Cowarts; his daughter, Tammy LeAnn (Mike) Bodiford, Bessemer; his 19 grandchildren; his 3 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Danny (Shirley) Folds, Midland City, and Levi (Wanda) Henderson, Headland; his sister, Tammy Henderson, Headland; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Trey Folds, Eddie Folds, Jr., Thomas Folds, Teddy Folds, Teddy Norton, and Koa Little. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jody Folds and Earl Folds.
