Lenton Eugene Bostick, 88, died February 18, 2014 at North Baldwin Hospital in Bay Minette, AL.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Norman C. Simmons officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30 on Saturday prior to service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital, 12562 USF Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612-9411.
Lenton was born March 30, 1925 in Dexter, GA, the son of the late Bernard and Lukie Bostick. He lived in Headland, AL until joining the US Navy. A WWII Veteran, he served aboard the USS Amphian, AR-13 and the USS Newport News in ports around the world. Following 20 years in the Navy he retired and served as Chief Engineer at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC for 21 years, returning to Headland to enjoy his retirement. Lenton was a member of Brown's Crossroads Masonic Lodge No. 529 for over 50 years.
Lenton was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Floyd and Jacob D. Bostick.
Survivors include two brothers, Bernard T. Bostick (Shelva) of Knoxville, TN, and Shelby N. Bostick (Karen) of Headland, AL and a sister, Virginia Harrison Draughon of Dothan, AL. He was also the beloved uncle of Cheryl Caton (Chris) of Andalusia, AL, Monty Clark (David) of Dothan, Ernest Alex Bostick (Paula) of Anderson, CA , Peter (Ester) of Anchorage, AK, Carrie Zollman (Ron) of Sacramento, CA, Randall K. Bostick of Vienna, VA and Kari Isbister (Jeffrey) of Lutz, FL.
