Leona Lee Patterson, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019 at her residence. She was 82.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, April 29, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1-2 pm.

Mrs. Patterson was born on November 30, 1936 in Buffalo, Wyoming and lived there the early years of her life. She was a 1955 graduate of Johnson County High School. Mrs. Patterson married in 1963 and moved to Dothan in 1964. She was employed with the Dothan Eagle. She later owned and operated Leona House of Flowers before working with Dothan Nursery and finally with PC Nursery. Mrs. Patterson was involved with the Horticulture Department at the National Peanut Festival for over 20 years. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Larry Patterson; her sons, Billy McConnell, Charles (Wendy) McConnell, Steven Patterson, Scott Patterson Shawn (Patricia) Patterson and Seth (Lindsey) Patterson; her daughter, Teena Allen; her grandchildren, Melissa Kirkland, Alexis McConnell, Zoey Patterson, Daniel Elmore, Tyler Elmore, Alyssa Smith, Carter Patterson, Chloe Patterson, Chase Patterson and Claire Patterson; two great-grandchildren, Grant Kirkland and Payton Kirkland; her brother, Rex (Cathy) Finley; two sisters, Mary Alice Gurney and Sandy (Dan) Mead; several nieces and nephews.
