LEONARD J. WILLIAMS
MIDLAND CITY. . . Leonard J. Williams, a resident of Midland City, died early Friday morning, May 9, 2014, in the Wesley Manor Retirement Center in Dothan. He was 81.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, May 10, 2014, in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Benny Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mr. Williams was born and reared in Dale County, son of the late Willie Ford Williams and Hazel Riley Williams. He lived in Midland City all his adult lifetime. Mr. Williams was an active member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was retired as a Foreman with Couch, Inc. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Bundy.
Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty-eight years, Christine Hanks Williams; a sister, Ann Matthews, and a brother, Ronnie Williams (Martha); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ida Harris (Richard), and Shellie Hanks (Anita); several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Wade Stinson, Jason Stanford, Pat O’Dell, Richard Harris, Jonathan Bostwick, Bo Paramore, Keith Riley, and Chuck Tye.
