LeRoy William Gillen of Enterprise, AL passed away, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at his home.  He was 83 years of age and was retired Army with 24 years of service.

           The family will receive friends at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, September 14^th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.  There will be a time of reflection at 7:00 P.M. lead by Rev. Donny Thrasher. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA on Monday. 

           Mr. Gillen was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Jenny May Johnson and Lester Gillen; two sons, Michael and Steve Barfield.

           Survivors include his wife of 52 years,  Mara E. Gillen, Enterprise, AL;  two sons, David C. Barfield; Terry Gillen; sister, Audrey Benke Schoenberg (Edward) ;  two brothers, John Gillen; Richard Benke all of Minnesota; four grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
