LESTER KEY, JR.
HEADLAND. . .Lester Key, Jr., a resident of County Road 83, South, Headland, died early Tuesday morning, November 29, 2011, at his home. He was 73.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday, December 1, 2011, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor James A. Rich and Reverend Sam White officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A. M. Thursday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Concord Baptist Church, c/o Janara Parrish, 1350 County Road 14, Newville, AL. 36353 or to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL. 36302.
Mr. Key was born and reared in Barbour County, near Blue Springs. He moved to Headland in 1954 and was engaged in farming most of his adult lifetime. Mr. Key was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Roy Key.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Melissa Chancey Key, Headland; two sons, Steve Key and wife, Ouida, Midland City; David Key, Headland; his mother, Wisteria Welch Key, Headland; three grandchildren, Megan Key, David Alan Key and wife, Erica, and Chad Baker; two great-grandchildren, Gracie Key and David Andrew Key.
