Letha Ann Hilson, a resident of Cowart’s, AL passed away peacefully at her residence on November 7, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on March 9, 1937, in Fort Deposit, Alabama.
Letha was the cherished daughter of the late James Crutchfield and Fannie Quinn Moorer. Her journey through life was shared with her beloved husband of 64 years, Gene Hilson, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her sister, Joyce Hilson, brother, John Crutchfield and her niece, Helen Chisholm.
Her legacy continues through her children, Charlotte Brackin, Celeste Brannon (Paul), and son, Gary Hilson. Grandchildren, Jeffrey Hilson, Bryan Brackin (Rebecca), Vince Hughes, and Gabriel Myers, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jade Hilson (Tyler), Olivia Hughes, Bennett and Brennen Brackin, Iris Hughes, and great-great grandchild, Emerson.
Letha’s professional life was marked by her dedicated service at Southeast Health environmental services, from which she retired after many years of committed work. She was a family-oriented soul who found her greatest pleasure in the company of her loved ones. An avid Alabama football fan, Letha’s spirit soared with every victory, and her home was often filled with the sounds of cheering and celebration during the games. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was at family gatherings, special occasions, or simply enjoying the everyday wonders of life.
Funeral services will be held at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home chapel at 1PM Saturday, November 09, 2024, with Pastor Daryl Bates officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Cowart’s Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or a donation may be made to the American Diabetes Association
The family will receive friends after the funeral service at 1446 N Broad St. Cowarts, AL
