Mrs. Lexie Jo Posey, a resident of Dothan passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
Heaven’s staircase is filled with tears of sorrow and joy as beloved sister, wife, mother , grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Lexie Jo Posey, ascended to meet her God and reunite with her late husband Ceciland her daughter in law, Diann Oxedine Posey.
Lexie Jo was born March 12, 1919 in Jasper, Alabama, the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Faught.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and retired from Sears and Roebuck.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 A. M. Friday, June 8, 2012 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Graveside services, officiated by Dr. Johnny Fain and Reverend Ray Jones with Music by Tim Willis will follow at 11:30 A. M. in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, Al. 36301.
Survivors include her son, James Richard Posey and friend Becky Bates; granddaughter Alison Rash; great Granddaughters, Kailey McCallister and Breanna Gerber; Sisters, Kay Meyers, Faye Copeland and Bea Cox; brothers, Harold and Gerald Faught and special relative and friend, Gaynell Posey and Laura Cason of Daytona.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Irwin, Charlie Smith, Rickey Stokes, Mike Grimmer, Russell Brooks and Earl Kelley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Oppert, Rod Grimmer, Jim Butterfield and David Plunkett.
