HEADLAND. . .Lezona Mae (Donie) Morehead, a resident of Headland, died Wednesday morning, March 4, 2015, in a Dothan hospital. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in the McMikle Funeral Home Chapel, Charleston, Missouri, with Reverend Calvin Brown and Reverend Preston Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Mrs. Morehead was born in Matthews, Missouri, daughter of the late Luther Emmett Brown and Esther Dell Swinney Brown. She lived most of her adult lifetime in Charleston, Missouri before moving to Headland in 2006. She was of the Nazarene Faith. Mrs. Morehead was retired from Brown Shoe Company in Charleston. Mrs. Morehead was preceded in death by three sisters, Fleta Jo Johnson, Suetta Brown, and Mary Lieving.
Surviving relatives include her husband, John Stanley Morehead, Jr., Headland; a daughter, Arita Harrison (Michael), Montgomery, AL; a son, Stan Morehead (Judy), Headland; three sisters, Jean Gulley, DeKalb, Illinois; Collen Johnson, Malta, Illinois; and Shirley Montavon, DeKalb, Illinois; a brother, brother, Calvin Brown, Morley, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ben Morehead (Anna), Sam Morehead (Nikki), Noel Seale (James), and Andrew Harrison; eight great-grandchildren, Amery, Eve, Linden, Ava, and Isabella Morehead, Lincoln, Addison, and Tatum Seale.
