FOLEY, ALABAMA. . .Lillian Buzbee Wiles, a resident of Foley, Alabama, and also a resident of the Wiregrass area for the past four years, died Tuesday afternoon, January 19, 2016, in the Oakview Manor Healthcare Center in Ozark. She was 88.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, January 23, 2016, in the Lay Cemetery, in Elberta, Alabama, Baldwin County, with Pastor Keith Cardwell officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Swift Presbyterian Church, 23208 Swift Church Road, Foley, Alabama 36535.
Mrs. Wiles was born in Olney, Oklahoma and was reared in Indiana, daughter of the late Oscar Buzbee and Alice White Buzbee. She lived in Lowell, Indiana many years before moving to Foley, Alabama in 1986. She received a teaching degree from Southeastern College in Indiana. Mrs. Wiles retired as an English and Business teacher from Merrillville Jr High School in Merrillville, Indiana. She was a member of the Swift Presbyterian Church in Foley where she formerly served as an Elder. Mrs. Wiles was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Edward S. Wiles, a daughter, Karen Kay Wiles, and a sister, Vivian Hile. She loved her dogs and playing golf and formerly taught a girls golf team in Merrillville.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Douglas Edward Wiles (LaDallion), Rehobeth; and Robert Alan Wiles, Cedar Lake, Indiana; four grandchildren, Chris Stinson, Stacie Pruitt (Tommy), Helen Wiles, and Timothy Wiles (Holly); three great-grandchildren, Megan Stinson, Will Pruitt and Cade Pruitt.
