LILLIAN “GAYLE” JOHNS
HEADLAND, AL… Lillian “Gayle” Johns, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at UAB hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She was 66.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Matthew Quincey officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Johns was born in Dothan, Alabama to the late Walter Sporman Knowles, Sr. and Ada Lillian Knight Knowles. She lived in the Headland, Alabama area her whole life. She was a 1974 graduate of Headland High School. She worked with Headland National Bank and retired from West Point Stevens. She was a member of the Headland United Methodist Church.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell “Clay” Johns; and her aunt and uncle, Vivian Knight Starling and James Gwynn Starling.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Nicole Feggins (Charles) and Jessica Melton (Reginald); her sister, Linda Knowles; her brother, Walter Sporman Knowles, Jr.; her grandchildren, Tanner McClenny, Taylor Feggins, Kinslee Melton, and Blake Feggins; her mother-in-law, Cecil Carroll Clayton (Neil); and her sister-in-law, Delana Guthrie.
